RJA #14a: Application Project Progress Report
For the application project, I’m writing two or more personal letters to my friends and families. The topic is going to be on arranged marriage and love marriage, mostly favoring on arranged marriage. In the letters I want to find out more of why arranged marriage is better than love marriage and also give some of my ideas that I know or gained and write it to my friends who are mostly against arranged marriage.
What I have accomplished so far.
I already wrote a letter asking an advice on arranged marriage to my mother, since she was married to my father in arranged marriage. In the letter that I wrote to her, I asked about why she chose arranged marriage and asked to give some experience knowledge she got in arranged marriage. I also asked her to tell me more about the cons of love marriage and arranged marriage too.
What I still need to do
I still need to write a personal letter to my friends who are mostly on love marriage. Asked them to tell me why they prefer love to arrange marriage. I might also add some good points about arranged marriage to let them know that it isn’t really that bad. My letters are still short and need to write more. Then still need to work on my three hundred words essay on how I used my source to write my personal letters.

Most Indians Find Their Life Partner By Letting Their Parents Choose. By Martin Bohn, Aug 31, 2009.
How the arranged marriages have changed. Now days, some parents post their child profiles on matrimonial website or the matrimonial ads. This time kids are allowed to have an opinion on whether to marry the person their parents do but still some are still are not able to do that. It usually the parents that work the hardest, by arranging meetings with the other family, dating service, and many more.
Did a survey of my own.
It is about whether people choose love marriage or arranged marriage. The age range was from seventeen and up. The things that did not matter was the race, color and sexes. I was not sure about the effect the religion or culture had on it so i did not ask the people. More than eighty percent chose love marriage, second highest did not care and the least prefer arranged marriage. I did this survey in US.

Some more facts on the love and arranged marriage form the news and website and also from the books.
Post a video of the effects that an arranged marraige can cause.
RJA #9b: Argument
Thesis 2: You want to be with someone whom you love and feel comfortable with for the rest of your marriage life.
Thesis 3: In arranged marriage, there is a high risk that you might not like the person, your parents or matchmakers chose for you.
Thesis 4: Interreacting with different people from different countries, can make you look at their point of view, learn new things, and socializing is also part of your life you need and do everyday. There might be less diversity between people from different background and less racism.
Counterargument 1: Arranged marriage have less divorce rate than love marriage. Arranged marriage saves more marriages.
Counterargument 2: Because of the divorce rate, parents still thinks that arranged marriage is better choice for their kids. Because parents goes through a great deal on finding right person that can take care of you.
Counterargument 3: People who is against love marriage believe that, in love marriage you already your partner and because of that, there is less communication between you and your parnter. Thus you might get bored with your spouse and ends up divorcing.
RJA #9a: Thesis Statement
Thesis: Research shows that an arranged marriage have less divorce rate, and save marraiges than love marriage, because it takes time and consideration for the parents and matchmakers to decide who is right for you. But that is taking away your rights. People wants to be with someone they love and be comfortable with, and not some stranger that someone else chose for you. Interreacting with other people, is also part of life that people needs to learn and also by talking to people with different background, you can learn alot and there will be less diversity between different races. With that, love marriage is much better than arranged marriage.

RJA #2b: Research Topic
Marriages have been going on for a very long time, but there are always different reasons behind each marriage. Some married for love, others married for family business for money, political marriage to gain power, or just because of their class. There had been a lot of arguments on the pros and cons on arrange or love marriage. People say having an arrange marriage usually last forever because they will get to know each other during their married life but it can also end in disaster because there is a risk you might not get along. For love marriage, people married each other because they feel comfortable and love each other but it also have its bad side to it such as you might get bored with your partner because you already know too much of each other. I know for the fact is arrange marriage is usually chosen by your parents depending on what’s going to be good for their child and not considering about whether they like each other.
In my country there have been a lot of arrange marriage going on for the fact that my dad and mom got married but my dad said their marriage was love and arrange marriage, but judging from my parents relationship, it looks like they don’t know much about each other anymore and because of that I think for my parent it was mostly an arrange marriage for both of them. Now days I usually here this word love and arrange marriage together but, is there really such thing as an love and arrange marriage or is it still love or arrange marriage?
